During their visit, IBAD students explored various facets of market research, from qualitative and quantitative methodologies to product research. They gained insight into how data collected in the field can influence everything from corporate decisions to state policies and laws. Our students had a firsthand look at SMS Research's operations, including our call center, and engaged with our market research and consulting teams, asking questions along the way.
This educational experience was part of their college and career planning journey. It's no secret that many high school students need more exposure to different career options, making it challenging to make informed decisions about their future. That's where programs like IBAD come in.
IBAD aims to provide young Hawai'i students opportunities to explore local careers in high-demand industries. Career academies are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. These academies provide students with immersive experiences, enabling them to connect their education to tangible career prospects. By doing so, students can explore their passions, interests, and aptitudes while gaining valuable skills that extend far beyond the confines of a textbook.
SMS Hawai'i is eager to continue to be a part of this workforce initiative, ensuring that young talent are well-equipped to make informed decisions about their career paths - especially in areas of market research. It's a win-win for students, businesses, and our community.
